Planting Seeds of Regeneration.
The phrase “Planting Seeds of Regeneration” I came up with one afternoon while working in the garden. It is just something that felt true.
I’ve spent years growing organic gardens and regenerative food systems and what I keep coming back to is this: everything starts with a seed. Not just plants — but ideas, systems, communities.
My keen enthusiasm to create regenerative landscapes led me to find syntropic agroforestry — inspired by people like Ernst Götsch to be the best and fastest way to regenerate land while creating abundance.
Syntropy is about working with natural succession. It’s about understanding that nature is always moving toward more life, more diversity, more fertility — if we let it. Instead of fighting “weeds”, we use them to push succession forward. Instead of bare soil, we chop and drop.
When I plant a seed,
I’m not just planting a tree.
I’m planting shade for the next crop.
Biomass for the soil.
Habitat for insects.
Food for my family.
In a syntropic food forest, a banana might support a slow but long lived jaboticaba. A fast-growing pioneer tree builds fertility for an avocado.
What we prune becomes mulch.
That’s regeneration to me.
Planting seeds of regeneration also means teaching others how to do it. The need for growing more sustainable and healthy food has led me to share what knowledge I have. I want to help others create abundance in their own backyards — whether that’s a little syntropic nest or a full food forest system.
For me, regeneration is about:
Healthy soil
Diverse planting
Thriving ecosystem
Long-term thinking
Systems that benefit future generations
It’s about designing landscapes that get better each year instead of more depleted.
We even decided to print “Planting Seeds of Regeneration” on our new T-shirt because it captures what is important to us in one sentence.
If you’ve landed here. You’re in the right place.
I’ll be sharing tips and practical insights into syntropic agroforestry, food forests and regenerative growing. And if you’re ready to start your own journey — or just want to learn more — feel free to reach out.
Let’s plant something that lasts. 🌱
